The Royal Round Up

The Royal Round Up
Posted on

There is no doubt there has been a lot of chatter in the news about this weekend's Royal Wedding. We believe the best relationships are founded on the basis of things you can do together. So, we’ve made a short list of all the sports Harry and the Royal family can introduce to Meghan Markle. And she is invited to play with us any time!

EQUESTRIAN

There is no denying that equestrian sports run in the Windsor blood, in 1710 Queen Anne designated royal land for “equestrian pursuits” and the family has continued to ride with the tradition. Her Majesty the Queen still rides, hosts the Royal Windsor Horse Show and is a patron of some of England’s finest racehorses.  Princess Anne and her Daughter, Zara Phillips have both represented Great Brittan in the Olympic sport of eventing. We're heard Meaghan is an animal lover and we hope to see her in the saddle shortly!

But is not just the royal women who are avid equestrians, Prince Phillip was an avid polo player who passed this love to Prince Charles and his grandsons Prince William and Prince Henry. The youngest prince George has already started riding lessons and there is little reason to believe he will not soon have his own string of ponies to continue the family tradition of the sport of kings (or in this case, princes) .

TENNIS

Harry and Meghan made their first public appearance together at the Invictus Games to watch a wheelchair tennis match. But Meghan is no stranger to the sport – she’s as close as could be with superstar Serena Williams. Meghan has travelled across the pond several times to watch her matches and Wimbledon and Serena was contributor to Meghan’s blog, The Tig! (We invite either of them to contribute to ours, any time)

SHOOTING

The Queen’s annual Boxing Day hunt at Sandringham Estate is still more than six months away, which should give lots of time for the new Princess to learn her way around an over under. Dressed in Purdey’s jackets armed with the finest shotguns, members of the Royal Family are paired up with guests for the competitive shoot so Meghan will actually be competing against Harry! Perhaps she could take a few tips from Princess Kate – an avid shooter and English country style icon.

SKIING

Rumor had it that Prince Harry held is stag in Verbier, Switzerland at his uncle’s ski chalet. But we’re wondering when he will be planning a ski trip with Meaghan – and where will it be? The Royal Family has a long history of skiing at the most prestigious destinations in the world including the French Alps, Switzerland and Austria. We’re hoping for an Aspen, Colorado visit!
